The Djinn's Revenge

The man woke from a heavy sleep with a full bladder. He stepped outside his tent to relieve himself and stumbled right into a nightmare. All teeth and tentacles, the thing wrapped itself around him and held him suspended above its masticating depths. For just a moment he thought he still dreamed, but then his bones began to crack and he knew that he was awake.

He looked wildly around for help and saw the Djinn, whom he had thought of as his property and subject to his bidding, floating in a whirlwind of pulsating energy near the Pavillion. Freed from the restraints with which he had bound her, she no longer looked human, but had taken on the colors and aspect of one of the ancient chaotic demons his grandfather had whispered of during his childhood. Grandfather's stories had terrified him and now the horror appearing before him was more real than any human woman ever could have been.

This seasoned warrior, who bore the scars of a hundred battles on his body, writhed in fear as the Maw below him gapped wider. Each humiliation, each forced act, each indignity she suffered while he held her prisoner had manifested as a tooth in that horrid mouth. He shrieked as the tentacles began to lower him in. His last conscious thought was the shame of having wet himself.

Midnight @ the Djinn's Oasis

Occasionally even a creature of magic can be enthralled.

She found herself being compelled to dance and grant "wishes" by the man who held her prisoner. It pierced her heart and stirred the conflagration that was her spirit, but Djinn are patient. She damped the fire down to a wisp of barely visible smoke around her brow and forced herself to smile behind her veil. One day she would escape and she would take her revenge.

He kept her imprisoned inside a brass lamp. He carried the lamp in a scarf looped through his belt, but one night it slipped from its cradle as he returned to his tent to sleep and in his fatigue he did not notice it land in the sand... to be continued

Twisted Hunt continues with a detour through a Side Hunt

You have no doubt heard legends of "Side Hunts" in conjuction with the Twisted Hunt. Resolute hunters will boldly click that sign and find themselves transported to unknown realms. 

The side hunts can be much more challenging than the main hunt. We realize you're already rocking in a corner and sucking your thumb just from doing the Main Hunt, but in case you're feeling up to a challenge, watch for Side Hunts as you travel around the Twisted grid!

I stumbled into a Side Hunt created jointly by Inner Mantra, Multifarious Conceptions and Corvid. The combined twistedness is truely a marvel to behold! The undaunted hunter wanders around in an absolutely lovely maze and eventually finds the prizes at the end of the maze. 

It's good practice for End Game... but more about that on another blog.

Twisted Hunt Spring 2021: Djinn

All things are strange which are worth knowing*

Are you ready for another round of Twisted? The theme of this 13th year of spring madness is Djinn and there will be magic, mystery and your very own road to madness awaiting you.

Your journey begins HERE . Make your way between the displays of memorabilia from former Twisted Hunts and touch the innocuous looking sand-colored cube above the altar. You can't miss it. There are huge pulsing arrows pointing the way and it's all by itself. This is the only cube in this hunt you'll find so easily. The rest will be fiendishly hidden, often in plain sight. 

Twisted has a well-earned reputation for being the most difficult hunt on the grid. There will be challenges and decoy cubes along the way. There will also be gachas, side hunts and a lot of crazy fun!
