Aznana's Aberrant Accouterments: Twisted Hunt Fall 2020: Drow

Time for a quick "Drow for non-elves" lesson. Not that you need to know anything about the Drow in order to do the Twisted Hunt, but just because it's fun to know...

Though there had always been references to "dark elves" in folklore, Gary Gygax was the one who gave them a name and description back in 1977 for the first edition of Dungeons and Dragons.

The Drow are a branch of the elven race, but they are outcasts, who dwell in the darkness, frequently living underground. Over the centuries they have adapted to their hidden world.

Their skin tends to be shades of gray and charcoal, but may be chalk white; their hair is usually white, though some have black hair; their eyes are usually blood red.

Theirs is a militaristic society and they war against their cousins who live above ground.

It is also a matriarchal society. Their primary deity is a spider goddess named Lolth.

Twisted Hunt Fall 2020 features Drow inspired designs and activities. This is the 12th year of Twisted fall madness. Our creators have added their own delightful twists (see how I did that?) to Drow lore and hope that you will have fun hunting for those elusive charcoal and muck green cubes. They will not be easy to find. There's a reason Twisted is known as the hardest hunt on the grid!

Spiders may play a part in the décor and in many of the hunt gifts. Our designers are aware that some people have real issues with arachnids. Most of our shop owners have clearly marked the areas of their side hunts that might contain creepy crawlies, but this is because they're awesome and thoughtful, it was not a requirement, so if you really freak out at the "S" word or have nightmares at the very thought of webs, be aware that there is a possibility you'll run into some of each as you hunt. As for me, I love the little critters. I'm ready to Hunt!
