The Dickens Project takes place in Second Life from December 7 - January 7 *
In a nutshell, The Dickens Project is a themed experience featuring Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and the world of the story:
~ Two scenic regions to explore and enjoy.
~ Live music, DJ sets, spoken word, dance events and performances.
~ Dozens of performers, presenters.
~ Both Invitational and Open Art Shows
~ Educational and interpretive content featuring different aspects of Victorian life.
~ Horse rambler tour, a hot air balloon ride, and more entertainments. [This info was shamelessly cut and pasted from the official Event NC]
Costumes are NOT required but are always welcome. Click the sign in the Welcome Area for Victorian clothing sources.
If Dickens' ghosts aren't enough to give you chills, there's a special house down by the mud flats just for H.P.Lovecraft fans. Inspired by Innsmouth and decorated with a tentacle tree, you might even run into Arik and Fuzzbut there. They were at the skating party, but were scared to come onto the ice. Go figure... they deal with Cthulhu and Yog-Sothoth all the time, but they were nervous about a little ice! Must be PTSD from the trip to Antarctica...
