Nimue's Revenge

In some versions of the story, Nimue is depicted as a malicious young  apprentice who beguiles Merlin in order to learn his magic.
In the Malory story, Merlin is the devious one. “And always Merlin lay about the lady to have her maidenhood and she was ever passing weary of him and fain would be delivered of him because she was afraid of him...”
He finally attempts to seduce her by taking her to the grave of two famous lovers in Cornwall. She traps him under the stone covering the burial site and “...he came never out for all the craft he could do. And so she departed and left Merlin.”
