Monster Music @ Innsmouth

• Hallowe'en Party in the Innsmouth Opera House Saturday October @ 4 pm slt.
• DJ Acer Amaterasu will be playing Monster Music including Indie and Goth with much Legendary Pink Dots and other music you won't hear at regular Hallowe'en bashes.

• If you're going to party with Daemons, monsters and creatures that give you nightmares, you can't do better than to go where the Bachtrachian residents live year-round!
• Innsmouth is a tribute region dedicated to the spirit of H.P.Lovecraft's works and we know how to party!

• Costumes are encouraged. The local residents may be dressed as humans just to mess with your head, but they are more likely to appear in their usual forms as the children of Dagon and Cthulhu. Try not to show fear; you may be one of us!

The Dicken's Project 2024

The season of light continues beyond December 25. If you're looking for something a little different to do this season, don't miss the Dicken's Project presented by the Seanchai Library in Second Life.

Self-guided tours will have fans of Dicken's Christmas Carol feeling quite at home as they move through two regions full of Victorian sights and sounds.

There are also a variety of literary and musical events scheduled and unscheduled till the Project closes on January 5. Click HERE for the calendar and info on programs. Join the Group to be alerted to spontaneous events.

Innsmouth has a presence in the more questionable part of London @ the Dicken's Project. There's a dark little house down by the waterfront that will remind you of Lovecraft's Innsmouth.

Visit Fuzzbutt and Arik at their home away from home HERE. If they aren't around, I'm sure they'd be happy to have you sit before the fire and rest as you read about Innsmouth and the Elder Gods before resuming your travels through the regions.

Donations to the Dicken's Project go to Reading is Fundamental (RIF). Info about RIF HERE.

Midnight Matinee

Would you enjoy attending a movie at a dilapidated movie theater in a harbor town inhabited by questionable and slightly disreputable characters?

Every Wednesday @ 1 pm slt, the residents of Innsmouth, a light RP region dedicated to the works of author H.P. Lovecraft, share a B-rated movie complete with brilliant comments and heckling from the audience ala MST3K. You're invited to join us in the Innsmouth Theater. There is plenty of seating. Come for the movie and stay to explore.

Innsmouth is not a temporary build for spooky season. It recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. The tingles going down your spine are real, as are the wonderfully unique residents.

If you enjoy Gothic vibes, early 20th century ambiance or just free-floating weirdness, check it out HERE.

I arrived early to get my favorite seat. I grabbed some popcorn in the lobby and could feel my eyes glaze over as I walked down the aisle. Ah! Guilty pleasures!

Sci Fi Con ~ Rlyeh

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn

(In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming)

Have you visited Sci Fi Con? Did you realize that a good portion of the builds are underwater?

For those who are brave (or foolish) enough to look beneath the surface, there are wonders to be found!

Go to the landing zone at Rlyeh. Take the stairs down to the middle platform. Search till you find the lift. When you arrive at the correct level, go to the Diving Suit Changing Room and claim a suit from the locker as your free gift. Change into the diving suit (right click the file in your inventory and "wear". It will take off all your mesh and alpha your body so that you can wear the suit).

From there, push the button hovering by the platform in the Pacific Marine Research Facility of Miskatonic University to take the Bathysphere to the ocean floor. (You know, the blue orb just outside the bay door with the big "DANGER" sign).

Follow the floating buoy lights as you explore the ocean depths and if you don't get totally lost in the dark, eventually you'll find the magnificent build that holds...

Cthulhu's Throne.

This underwater realm was envisioned and brought to fruition by Arik Metzger and his minions. You may even see the mysterious builder and his grid-famous cat, Fuzzbutt, lingering around the Rlyeh docks.

This picture was taken at one of Arik's readings back home at Innsmouth, a light RP region dedicated to the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

Movies every Wednesday, 1 p.m. slt. Other activities announced in group notices.

Sci-fi Con, sponsored by Linden Labs and the Michael J Fox Foundation and supported by a variety of RP communities in Second Life, runs from May 24-June 4.
