Top picture shows the backdrop with all the props. For the bottom picture I edited it to make the podium and book transparent so you could see the gown I'm wearing.

Ostara's Altar April 12 ~ 26

It's time for Ostara's Altar, a seasonal event featuring Second Life's favorite Gothic, Fantasy and Alternative creators, who have gathered to bring a touch of spring color and lightness to our mystical world.

Ostara, also known as Eostre, is the Anglo-Saxon goddess of dawn, spring, rebirth, and renewal. She represents fertility, new beginnings, and the awakening of nature after winter.

One story recounts how Eostre found a bird with its wings frozen to the earth. She saved it by transforming it into a hare, which retained the ability to lay eggs. The transformed hare was so grateful to be alive its eggs appeared in bright colors and patterns. 

Join the Hunt for mystic eggs like the one I'm holding in the second picture. No hud or hints necessary. Hunt Eggs may be hidden anywhere in the event area. The Hare has been everywhere! Pay the L$25 finder's fee to add the contents to your collection.

Whether your magic is dark and mysterious, light and ethereal, or you just enjoy wandering through the bounty of spring while shopping, you'll find clothing, body mods, home furnishings and accessories to fit your needs, all in a beautifully landscaped region where you can take photos in themed scenarios.

The Dicken's Project 2024

The season of light continues beyond December 25. If you're looking for something a little different to do this season, don't miss the Dicken's Project presented by the Seanchai Library in Second Life. 

Self-guided tours will have fans of Dicken's Christmas Carol feeling quite at home as they move through two regions full of Victorian sights and sounds. 

There are also a variety of literary and musical events scheduled and unscheduled till the Project closes on January 5. Click HERE for the calendar and info on programs. Join the Group to be alerted to spontaneous events.

Innsmouth has a presence in the more questionable part of London @ the Dicken's Project. There's a dark little house down by the waterfront that will remind you of Lovecraft's Innsmouth.  

Visit Fuzzbutt and Arik at their home away from home HERE. If they aren't around, I'm sure they'd be happy to have you sit before the fire and rest as you read about Innsmouth and the Elder Gods before resuming your travels through the regions.
