Musings on Magic ~ The Tale of a Tail

I blogged Aii's Devoura Tail on my last post [HERE], but apparently because of the similar gold colors of my skin and dress or the number of flying hands in the original pictures, the tail wasn't easy to see, so here it is again, sans skeletal hands and with a strong contrasting skin color. Sorry about that!

• The tail picks up your BOM skin tone to create a perfect match to your body. 
• Includes an optional cross charm which swings realistically as the tail moves.

A Midsummer Marriage

• It would hardly be Midsummer without a marriage or two. Here we find our sweethearts dressed in Gothic splendor at their new home. 
• There are homes to purchase and several different styles of furniture to be had @ Midsummer Enchantment.

 

• I opted for the Summerwind Cottage LI48 from Lore with furnishings from Blue Blood and [QE] Home. 
• The Summerwind has 2 main rooms and a loft. Stained glass windows and ceramic tiles on the floor give it a lovely old world feeling. The walls have a cream interior and gray exterior.

• Aborea Relax cluttered shelves from Blue Blood * in 4 color combinations includes 4 poses and also comes in a bare shelves version to hold your own clutter.

• [QE] Home brings Aradia Wall Art and Pictures, the EXCLUSIVE to be found @ Midsummer Enchantment *. I combined it with the Repurposed Creeper Table and Pully Light which is part of their gift at SLB22.

Ostara's Altar April 12 ~ 26

It's time for Ostara's Altar, a seasonal event featuring Second Life's favorite Gothic, Fantasy and Alternative creators, who have gathered to bring a touch of spring color and lightness to our mystical world.

Ostara, also known as Eostre, is the Anglo-Saxon goddess of dawn, spring, rebirth, and renewal. She represents fertility, new beginnings, and the awakening of nature after winter.

One story recounts how Eostre found a bird with its wings frozen to the earth. She saved it by transforming it into a hare, which retained the ability to lay eggs. The transformed hare was so grateful to be alive its eggs appeared in bright colors and patterns. 

Join the Hunt for mystic eggs like the one I'm holding in the second picture. No hud or hints necessary. Hunt Eggs may be hidden anywhere in the event area. The Hare has been everywhere! Pay the L$25 finder's fee to add the contents to your collection.

Whether your magic is dark and mysterious, light and ethereal, or you just enjoy wandering through the bounty of spring while shopping, you'll find clothing, body mods, home furnishings and accessories to fit your needs, all in a beautifully landscaped region where you can take photos in themed scenarios.

What lies beneath - a Tribute to Grendel's Mother

Grendel's Mother is a tertiary character in the epic Old English poem, Beowulf. The character is not named in the poem and all we know about her is that she lives with her monstrous son in a flooded grotto and tries to warn her son about the dangerous human warriors he might encounter if he leaves the safety of their lair. Grendel ignores his mother's advice and they both die as a result.

I decided the Mother wasn't a monster in the usual sense, just a very powerful female shapeshifter with a few unusual features, who represents the dangers awaiting anyone who seeks to confront the unknown, either in the world or in themselves...
