Aii Creates a Faery Tale for Spring

+Aii has done it again! Just when I think the pinnacle of amazing creations has been reached, Aii raises the bar.

• Create the ultimate Faery look with Dark Fae Ears and Dark Fae Wings, currently available @ Engine Room. 
• It's impossible to describe how beautifully textured these are. Every scale and vein is visible on the wings and the movement is excellent. [80 wing colors with realistic and fantasy markings / 20 Gemstone types / 10 metals + options to personalize everything as you wish].
• The Bento Ears are well sculpted and rigged for Male & Female LeLutka heads. They blend with your skin color using BOM EvoX ear tattoos. Trimmed with crystal clusters and metallic trim set with gems, the ears use the same textures listed above to match the wings perfectly.

The Faerie of the Crystal Cave

A solitary frost faerie dwelt in a cold and silent crystal cave. Like her ancestors she was quiet, independent and a bit brittle. Unlike her ancestors, she was not completely happy existing alone. Depression almost got the best of her, especially in the midst of winter when the shorter days made her feel particularly blue. 

One day she was surprised by skaters passing through her cave in celebration of their winter holiday. They greeted her cheerfully and, instead of avoiding them as she normally would have done, she hesitantly returned their greetings. 

She felt a bit of warmth begin to flow through her body. She enjoyed the feeling even though it frightened her a little. The next time skaters appeared she quietly welcomed them. It was hard work, but as time passed she began to feel almost comfortable saying "hello" to the folks who shared her world. She found that even though she would always be a solitary frost faerie, occasionally it felt good to let her heart feel the warmth of others.

• Frost and crystal Scadi Jumpsuit for female mesh bodies is from Faunus *. I'm a very private frost faerie so I added a white pastie on the right side, which has just the crystals, but bolder ladies will enjoy flaunting the crystals. You'll find more frosty costuming ideas from Faunus including unisex sets that look great on male and female bodies @ Winter's Hollow.

• Wings from Aii & Ego. I use these Fairy Wings a lot because they're beautifully textured and nicely animated. They come in Bento and Animesh. In the top picture I'm showing the XL wings with one of the textures available in the Moon Ripple hud [20 colors] sold separately. In the lower picture I used the pearl texture from the original hud [37 colors]. Check out the huge variety of wing styles at the Aii MAIN Store.

The Green Knight

In the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a Green Knight appears before Arthur's court during a Christmas feast holding a bough of holly in one hand and a battle axe in the other. The knight issues a challenge: he will allow a man to strike him once with his axe, with the condition that the Green Knight will return the blow the next year. Arthur accepts the challenge, but Gawain takes his place and decapitates the Green Knight, who laughs, retrieves his head, reattaches it and tells Gawain to meet him at the Green Chapel in a year and a day.

After many adventures testing not only his courage, but his morality and tenacity, the two warriors meet at the appointed time. Gawain submits to the Green Knight, who does not kill him, and Gawain is richly rewarded.

Modern folklorists have interpreted the story not only as the Hero's Journey, but as a medieval homage to the nature cycle which allows plants to be cut down and rise again. They say that the story reminds us on a visceral level that plants control the fate of humankind and need to be respected.

What lies beneath - a Tribute to Grendel's Mother

Grendel's Mother is a tertiary character in the epic Old English poem, Beowulf. The character is not named in the poem and all we know about her is that she lives with her monstrous son in a flooded grotto and tries to warn her son about the dangerous human warriors he might encounter if he leaves the safety of their lair. Grendel ignores his mother's advice and they both die as a result.

I decided the Mother wasn't a monster in the usual sense, just a very powerful female shapeshifter with a few unusual features, who represents the dangers awaiting anyone who seeks to confront the unknown, either in the world or in themselves...

Tribute to the Cailleach

The Cailleach is the mother of all gods and goddesses in Scotland.
Scottish folk tale collector, J.G MacKay, refers to her as the most tremendous figure in Gaelic myth today. Although her name can be found throughout Scotland in folklore, customs, ancient monuments and the natural landscape, the Cailleach is one of the lesser-known figures of Celtic mythology and is often overlooked. Her true origins have been lost over time. She is vastly ancient and predates even the Celtic mythology of which she has become a part.

The Cailleach is a crone goddess, usually depicted dressed entirely in grey. Her face is wan and blue, like that of a corpse, and her hair is long and speckled with frost. She is the one who brings winter to the world and freezes the land in order to cause seeds to germinate. Source

• A different take on the Goddess of Winter with the use of items from Aii & Ego available in the MAIN STORE. 
• Last Kiss outfit and jewelry. The outfit comes with chained jewelry and shoes as well as optional Horns (not shown) and Spikes on the shoulders and hips. The hud includes a full spectrum of colors and textures. I concentrated on blue grey, black and white for this tribute.
